I got a few hours of beading done the last two days. This piece is starting to come to life! I have not done a small piece in quite awhile. I am amazed at how fast this going.

No beading yesterday, boo. Today I spent a few hours working on this piece. I like where this is going. I am thinking it wants me to change the head. I have penciled in a more rounded head and ears. We shall see how it feels as I go along.

Well, I have made some progress. Decided not to use the gold saucer beads flat, turned them on their sides. Much better. It is starting to tell me where I’m going. Cute little guy.

Still unsure what the final form will be.
This is a follow along project. I will take as many pics as I can, sometimes I just get into the beading and forget to stop! I spent a few days cleaning / reorganizing the bead room and found things long forgotten! The center piece is a piece of Australian Opal, in matrix. It is a beauty. I love the flashes of red when it is in the sunlight.
Here we go.

Not beadwork, but lots of inspiration!

My piece made it into the juried show. I was so glad to be included. This was a fun piece to do, adding the pearls and porcupine quills made it more my style! I have a few more ideas using salmon skin and beads… Here are a few pictures I took on a slow day at the gallery, still very hard to include everything.

I started a new art piece 3 days ago. As I was beading I realized that this is the third round piece I have done this year. Not a plan, but I like the results. I will post more pics. as this progresses.

This is a new piece. It is made of salmon skin, fox fur and porcupine quills. Trimmed with freshwater pearls and seed beads. I submitted it for entry into “Patterns of Influence” a juried art show. I found out today that it has been accepted ! I will have to wait until Friday evening to find out how or if it placed.

This is the second piece using the polar bear/northern lights theme. It is 5 inches in diameter. I had fun making it scenic, a new thing for me.

I really like this Theme. It is a great way to display my art. What do you think?
I started this piece a few days ago. Spent hours searching my stash for just the right pieces. Then I went thru the seed beads to get the perfect mix of colors to use. Got out my heavy felt and aida cloth and began placement of the main pieces. This is where I always need to walk away, come back, rearrange, go get more seed beads…. takes longer than it should. I am happy with this and I think it will be a nice piece. I will post more as I progress.
